Public Affairs & Stakeholder Engagement Manager

We’re looking for a communications manager to join our agency to head up stakeholder relations across a number of diverse and rewarding client accounts.

You’ll be a confident, ambitious and empathetic team member, skilled at working at pace and with agility across multiple clients and disciplines. You’ll be a champion for our clients with a focus on delivering solid results across a broad stream of stakeholder liaison objectives, primarily within planning application and development remits. You’ll achieve this through your intimate knowledge of local government processes, developing and a strong network of relationships in government, business, media, and the third sector, influencing appropriate audiences and raising the profile and corporate reputation of the organisation.

In addition, you’ll be responsible for seeking out new business opportunities in your area of specialism, further developing the stakeholder engagement arm of the agency.

This is a fantastic role for a skilled public affairs manager, or PR account manager with relevant stakeholder engagement experience, looking to take their next career step. The role offers the chance for strong personal development and career progression and would suit a driven individual who thrives in a team environment.

The ideal candidate will have:

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in public affairs and stakeholder engagement role
Up to date experience working in planning and development communications, either from an internal position or within a public affairs/ communications agency
The ability to confidently manage multiple client accounts and challenging briefs
Demonstrate emotional intelligence and the ability to communicate effectively with large and diverse groups of people
Media relations experience on a regional and national level
A keen interest and knowledge in politics at a local and central government level
Experience in built environment highly desirable

Public Relations Senior Account Executive

 

To support business growth, we’re looking for a Senior Account Executive to join our agency, working within a small team of dedicated and friendly PR professionals across national and regional clients in a variety of sectors – from household names to challenger brands and start-ups.

The Senior Account Executive will have the opportunity to lead small projects and support the work of more senior members of the team on larger projects.

You’ll be a great team player, with a natural affinity for building relationships at all levels – face to face, through written communication, and online. The successful candidate will have high levels of emotional intelligence, a genuine interest in current affairs and media, and have a positive, can-do attitude towards every aspect of their work.

The ideal candidate will have first class written and verbal communication skills and an excellent understanding of social media. You’ll either be an experience Account Executive ready for the next step in your career, or already working as an SAE and looking to make the move to an agency which offers a commitment to personal and professional development, great team culture, and a rewarding, fulfilling career path.

Responsibilities will include:

Day to day client management
Drafting press releases and social media content
Managing and developing media lists
Attending client meetings and events
Providing creative input into overall strategy and planning for client campaigns
Building journalist relationships, selling in and pitching feature ideas
Organising and co-ordinating events
Developing management skills with more junior team members
Work as part of the account team to develop client proposals and implement activity
Collating, analysing and reporting on activity
Attending and representing Liz Lean PR at events

 

The ideal candidate

Experience: 1 – 2 years working in PR, ideally agency side

Education: Degree in PR, Marketing, Communications or Journalism is desirable

The Senior Account Executive should:

Have strong media relations skills
Be an excellent communicator with the ability to think strategically and creatively
Have excellent writing skills
Should be digitally savvy and culturally connected
Flexibility, determination, enthusiasm and the ability to cope well under pressure
Good teamwork, negotiation and relationship building skills
Good knowledge of current affairs
Interest in learning and keeping up to date on industry changes/advancements
Thoroughness, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work on multiple concurrent projects
Ability to think creatively and use imagination
Proactive and motivated with the desire to take ownership of tasks set
Proven analytical skills and desire to conduct research to substantiate ideas
