Producing a guest list for overnight success
Bringing the best in Caribbean eating and drinking to the UK, Turtle Bay is a dynamic, exciting chain, with several restaurants across the UK, which is expanding fast into new towns and cities.
Turtle Bay challenged us to “get under the skin of the local community and make us famous” for the launch of its Bournemouth restaurant, through:
- Media relations: getting attention and coverage from target local media.
- Guest list management: producing and managing a list of ‘added value’ guests who would reflect Turtle Bay’s brand and help it build a strong customer base in the town.
Over a three-month period, we delivered 28 positive pieces of coverage in target media, with a combined reach of more than 1.6million people. To ensure prolonged and effective coverage, we generated a further idea for a cookery masterclass, as a prize for a competition run over traditional and social media, with invitations extended to local journalists and targeted bloggers.
We secured more than 700 guests fitting Turtle Bay’s criteria. The restaurant was literally an overnight success: it was fully booked by 10am the day after the launch event and has traded to capacity since.
